Chapter 10

It wasn’t only Donghai University and the School of Finance and Economics that had their registration day. Every university in Sudong Province did as well. Thus, there were long lines of students at every public transportation station.

Despite the large numbers of people, Xiao Rongyu still did not fail to attract the attention of many. After all, she was beautiful and how could anyone ignore her after what she had just shouted out loud?

As for Chen Hansheng, he was wearing a pair of toad-shaped sunglasses but it wasn’t enough to stop his tall and strong build from gaining the looks of others.

Wang Zibo, on the other hand, simply stood on the sidelines like a supporting character.

Xiao Rongyu’s words were bound to create misunderstandings, especially among the crowd of young adults who had just graduated from high school. It was as if they were watching a dramatic scene of a scumbag abandoning his beau.

Chen Hansheng started to panic. How could he not when she made such a statementin public? He quickly hurried over to her and said, “Alright, alright. Don’t cry.”

There were no tears in Xiao Rongyu’s eyes. She was simply aggravated. But she decided to continue her act anyway.

Xiao Rongyu wiped the corner of her eyes with the back of her hand and turned around without saying a word.

Jianye was known to have one of the highest summer temperatures in the country, and September 1 marked the end of it. However, Chen Hansheng still did not want to bask in the sun any longer. He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Let’s just hurry up and leave. If people took what you just said seriously, I might not be able to find a girlfriend.”

“What?!”

Xiao Rongyu suddenly raised her head and looked at Chen Hansheng incredulously. Was this really the same Chen Hansheng who had liked her for all three years of high school?

Here she was, crying, and his concern was his prospects of finding a girlfriend?

Chen Hansheng was also shocked when he saw Xiao Rongyu suddenly glaring at him. Didn’t she already reject him?

“How about this? I’ll help you to the train station and then watch you get on the bus. That should be enough, right?”

Unbeknownst to him, Chen Hansheng had just added fuel to the fire. Was he going to keep teasing Xiao Rongyu?

“Are you really going to leave me behind?!”

Xiao Rongyu was about to explode in anger. Her breathing rapidly increased.

“Hansheng…”

Xiao Rongyu looked up with tears in her eyes. She did not know whether to apologize or say something else.

Chen Hansheng unexpectedly smiled at her after watching her for a while. “Has your anger subsided?”

Xiao Rongyu first shook her head and then immediately nodded. Wang Zibo quickly tried to smooth things over. “It’s okay, it’s okay. Let’s go someplace quieter first.”

Wang Zibo took the initiative to carry most of the luggage though there was still quite a number for Chen Hansheng to carry. Xiao Rongyu only carried a small bag as the three of them left under the watchful eyes of the crowd.

Since the male and female lead had left, the crowd quickly dispersed. The station returned to its usual hustle and bustle.

The group arrived at a four-way intersection. The unending flow of traffic intimidated Wang Zibo and Xiao Rongyu. In the end, Chen Hansheng led the way.

Wang Zibo was nervous, afraid that the couple would cause trouble again. “Hansheng, where are we going?”

“To have lunch. Aren’t you hungry?” asked Chen Hansheng in return.

“Then let’s go to Longevity Lake Park in the afternoon. We can’t leave Rongyu behind.” Wang Zibo suggested.

Chen Hansheng rubbed the teeth marks on his arm and put on a show. “How about we bring her along?”

Wang Zibo was very happy when he heard that. He turned around to Xiao Rongyu and said, “Look, Hansheng said you can come along.”

Xiao Rongyu smiled at first, but then she felt a little sad as she looked at Chen Hansheng’s back. This guy had just spent ten yuan on a paper fan at the Longevity Lake Park to fan himself the entire way. Combined with his sunglasses and the bounce in his strides, he looked as happy as can be.

“Ugh, men!”

Xiao Rongyu sighed in her heart. Chen Hansheng used to treat her so well in the past. However, ever since she had rejected him, she had started to realize that she was no longer that important to him.

It was as if she was losing her place in her heart.

This was the first time the eighteen-year-old Xiao Rongyu had witnessed Chen Hansheng’s ruthlessness. She thought that today was the worst he could be, but little did she know that it was only the beginning.
